Inspired people, amazing designs, and projects with purpose.Job DescriptionOlsson’s Telecommunications team provides clients with services ranging from long haul outside plant design, building entrance design, Fiber-To-The-x (FTTx) design, GIS asset management/fiber mapping services, and project permit coordination. As a GIS student intern on our Telecom team, you will perform meaningful, hands-on, real-world work that will transform your classroom experience and help you envision your future career. You will assist designers and engineers using a multitude of GIS based systems, to perform design work and spatial analysis, create construction plan sets, conduct data collection activities, and model telecommunication networks. You may also travel to job sites for observation and/or fieldwork if needed, working in all types of terrain and weather conditions.We have one current internship opening and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Lincoln, NE or Omaha, NE office location. QualificationsYou are passionate about:

Strong communication skills

Ability to contribute and work well on a team

Pursuing a degree in GIS, geography, drafting, electrical engineering, or relatable field

Experience in ArcMap (or similar software)

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

Strong attention to detail

Strong problem-solving and math skills
