Orr McDonnell Law is a boutique law firm with a diverse civil litigation and transactional practice and a team of motivated lawyers and staff. We seek an organized, enthusiastic, detail-oriented, and driven front desk legal assistant/receptionist to join our close team to assist with client communications, case management, file maintenance, scheduling, and other administrative duties. Our office maintains a casual environment but we produce professional results for our clients. This position offers significant professional growth and development opportunities for the right candidate.
Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to attorneys and paralegals
● Drafting, proofreading, filing, and maintaining basic legal documents and correspondence
● Communicating with clients, witnesses, and, other attorneys
● Monitoring deadlines and maintaining calendars
● Assisting with other general office duties as assigned
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications/qualities:
Team Player
At a minimum, a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or other professional office setting
Current, valid driver’s license
Notary Public (preferred but not required)
Must pass a background check
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Exceptional time management skills
Professional presentation of self
A healthy sense of humor
Keen attention to detail;
Highly organized and able to utilize office systems
Ability to work with minimal supervision;
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Working knowledge and competency in the following programs:
- MS Word;
- MS Outlook;
- MS Excel; and
- Nuance/Adobe PDF modifying software.
Benefits & Compensation:
Wages are competitive. Your wage will depend on skills and experience but will be no less than $20.00 per hour for the ideal candidate. Benefits received upon your first day of employment include a minimum of 8 Federal holidays and 12 days of PTO leave annually. Enrollment in the firm's health insurance plan for self after 60 days of employment. After 1 year of employment, all non-probationary employees are eligible to receive a bonus and to take part in the firm’s retirement/investment fund.
Hours:
Full-time.
8:00—5:00 P.M Monday-Friday
