Full-Time Optician

Eyes on Main is a small, locally owned and operated independent optometry practice. It is our goal to provide each patient with outstanding service, respect, education, and a thoroughness not seen elsewhere.

We are seeking a reliable and professional individual to join our team. Ideal candidates will be outgoing, good listeners, detail oriented, have great written and verbal communication skills, and be eager to learn. The ability to multitask and participate as a team player are a must.

We are open Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm. Occasionally, we are here a bit past 5pm. We are looking for someone full time from approx. 8:30am until we are done with patients (5/5:30pm)

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

· Assisting patients in selecting frames, and recommending the best lens options to meet their needs

· Adjusting and repairing patient eyewear

· Training patients new to contact lens wear on the insertion, removal, and care of contact lenses

· Greeting patients

· Answering phones

· Scheduling appointments

· Understanding and clearly communicating to patients the insurances accepted and collecting corresponding copays

Qualifications:

· Previous optical experience highly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate

· Positive Attitude

· Reliable

· Able to self-manage and work independently, while also able to work as part of the team

· Ability to listen effectively and discuss and understand patient problems/needs

· Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy

· Familiarity with phone systems and ability to handle high call volumes

· Familiarity with computers

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
