We are searching for an experienced and motivated Vertical Milling Supervisor to drive excellence within SM&T. This is a leadership position where your technical expertise and mentoring abilities will directly contribute to our team's success and operational efficiency. Enjoy a consistent work-life balance with our standard 4-day work week (Monday – Thursday), with occasional overtime opportunities available on Fridays.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and mentor a team of skilled machinists, fostering a positive, collaborative, and goal-oriented work environment.

Manpower & Machine Scheduling: Develop and manage production schedules for work centers and Team Members.

Process Oversight: Supervise the entire vertical milling process, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules.

Programming & Setup: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of CNC programming (G-Code, MDI, CAM software) to monitor and train others to set up and optimize machine operations.

Quality Assurance: Apply advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge to perform or mentor/train in-process inspections and ensure all components meet exact specifications.

Efficiency & Innovation: Drive continuous improvement initiatives at both the personal and departmental levels, focusing on enhancing efficiency and product quality.

Technical Expertise: Select appropriate cutting tools, work holding solutions, and fixturing techniques for complex jobs, sharing best practices with the team.

Key Skills and Attributes:

Proven experience in a CNC supervisory or lead role within a manufacturing environment.

Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Mastery of blueprint interpretation and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

Expert-level knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and operation.

In-depth understanding of cutting tools, work holding, and fixturing strategies.

A goal-oriented mindset and a dedicated team player.

A strong desire to coach, mentor, and develop team members to reach their full potential.
