OUR COMPENSATION PHILOSOPHYWe offer competitive total compensation that includes pay, benefits, and other recognition programs for our employees. The base pay range shown above considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including knowledge/skills; relevant experience and training; education/certifications/licensure; and other business and organizational factors. This base pay range does not include our comprehensive benefits package and any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.The BH Sr. Pharmacy Business Intelligence Advisor reports directly to the Director, Pharmacy Business Operations, to assist in strategic and innovative business opportunities that support the mission, vision and values of Baystate Health.The BH Sr. Pharmacy Business Intelligence Advisor serves as the financial point of contact and strategic finance partner for all pharmacy services across the system including inpatient, outpatient, retail, specialty, and infusion pharmacy business lines. The BH Sr. Advisor is a critical player in helping to build and enhance a financial infrastructure that support the growth and expansion of services, programs, and pharmacies across the health system.The BH Advisor is responsible for the financial and operational intelligence in supporting the direction and development of the Pharmacy enterprise. The BH Advisor provides analysis of quantitative and qualitative data from internal and external data sources in support of business decisions. The BH Advisor is integral to the success of the various revenue diversification opportunities as directed by BH Pharmacy and Baystate Health Senior leadership. The incumbent supports the Vice President Clinical Support Services and the Director, Pharmacy Business Operations with analyses of existing and new programs, potential acquisitions and joint ventures, and provides financial projections to assist with key decisions regarding utilization and optimization of Baystate Health resources. The BH Advisor works with consultants, developers, vendors, and other external parties on behalf of Pharmacy to support the business analytics platforms utilized throughout the pharmacy enterprise. The incumbent presents results of analyses to Baystate Senior Leadership and various internal teams as appropriate. The Advisor routinely collaborates across many others managing business departments and specialty areas, in order to provide a full range of financial and other services that match the rapidly changing needs of Baystate Health's Pharmacy program.Job Responsibilities:
Oversees the programmatic direction of strategic Pharmacy initiatives, inclusive of all financial aspects of the 340B Federal Drug Discount Program.
Uses standard or ad hoc queries or reports to extract data from disparate databases or data sources. Analyzes data to produce dashboards, metrics, or insights and identify trends or anomalies. Consults with users or decision makers to identify data sources, required data elements, or data validation standards.
Collaborates with development teams to design business intelligence solutions to facilitate data gathering, storage, and retrieval.
Provides significant analytical support, including the preparation and presentation of analyses, to assist BH Senior Leadership in assessing market share, methods of service delivery, potential for consolidation or expansion of services across BH, labor costs, staffing patterns, overhead, etc.
Serves as the Pharmacy Business Operations team’s internal expert on complex, multi-dimensional financial analyses that often require collaboration with Shields Health Solutions, Cardinal Health, and many other strategic partners.
Manages a team of financial professionals who assist in developing new programs and strategies for improving the patient and customer experience as well as the overall financial condition of Baystate Health's Pharmacy Enterprise.
Serves as the Program's key information system strategist, providing consulting & oversight to the internal business team in pursuing improvements and synergies in selection, development and / or implementation, and maintenance of relevant information systems.
Leads Pharmacy financial operations to achieve business objectives by increasing sales and gross margins, limiting expenses, and creating and monitoring department performance metrics and dashboards. Also participates in various performance improvement projects related to business initiatives for the Pharmacy.
Designs, implements, coordinates, and monitors operating and capital budgets, reporting on budget variances and other significant issues to management.
Works collaboratively with all team members to enhance and assist in financial reporting for the entire Pharmacy Enterprise.
Performs work under minimal supervision. Handles complex issues and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff. Experience with implementing, maintaining, and fully utilizing various business software applications required. Knowledge of operational financial management concepts such as flexible budgeting, productivity management, benchmarking, net revenue modeling, and cost accounting. Partner with the director and the manager of pharmacy business operations to lead a team that demonstrates strong business acumen throughout all areas of pharmacy.
