Part time (30 hours per week average) night shift position with weekend and holiday requirements.Position Summary:The Nurse Aide – Surgical Floor implements the plan of patient care in accordance with established methods and techniques under the direction of the nurse.Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GED required

American Heart Association BLS

Preferred: Current Certified Nurse Aide

Preferred: Previous healthcare experience

Essential Job Functions:Performs tasks in meeting the patient’s physical needs.

Reports observations and patient comments to the nurse. Gives close attention to detail in providing care and reporting patient condition changes to the nurse.

Cleans equipment and requests repair when needed.

Documents I&O, Vital Signs, etc as requested.

Assists as requested by nursing, including hourly rounding on the patient in conjunction with the nurse.

Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesDemonstrates sound judgement, patience, and maintains a professional demeanor at all times.

Ability to work in a busy and stressful environment.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to work varied shifts.

Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality.

Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment.

Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight.
