DescriptionCTG is seeking to fill an Engineering Technician 4 opening for our client in Shakopee, MN.Location : Shakopee, MNDuration : 6 month contract, with possible extensionWork Hours : Flexible 6-8 a.m. start time (8-hour day)Overview:We are seeking a candidate for a Fiber Optic Technician IV position. You would be working in our prototype laboratory doing hands on work for the Engineering Department. The work schedule consists of an eight-hour a day, forty-hour week, first shift position M-F with a flexible 6-8 a.m. start time.This opportunity is to be involved with cutting edge Fiber Optic R&D technology and development within the global telecommunication field. Able to operate computers (create, save, and send files; compose emails, website navigation)

Understanding drawings, schematics, and work orders

Work with small, intricate items with nimble techniques or tooling

Use of hand tools such as scissors, pipe cutters and wire strippers

Able to learn to work with electronic measuring devices; PC based.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Good interpersonal skills

General Safety protocols

Can either sit or stand at lengths of time.

Can work in an active, changing environment.

Desire Skills:

Fiber Optics or in absence of, then General Electrical Circuitry and Cabling

SAP or equivalent ERP systems

Measurement tools such as tape measure and calipers

Unit of measure division of metric and feet

Chemical or adhesive usage and its safety

Ability to use Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams

Inventory Control

Ability to lift or push forty pounds.

Education:

High School Degree
