Corporate Tax Staff Accountant

Description We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contract Corporate Staff Accountant with expertise in Sales and Use Tax for a short-term project. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with sales and use tax regulations. This position can be fully remote after the training period. Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.

Sales and Use Tax Compliance: Manage and oversee the sales and use tax function, ensuring timely and accurate filing of returns and compliance with applicable regulations.

General Accounting: Perform general accounting duties, including reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes.

Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of audit schedules and support external auditors during the audit process.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency in financial and tax-related processes.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.

CPA or relevant certification preferred.

Proven experience as a Staff Accountant with a focus on sales and use tax.

Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Proficient in accounting software, Oracle, and Excel.

Ability to work independently and meet tight deadline
