RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Design and Release Engineer, Battery in Warren, MI.

Summary:The selected candidate will focus on the design release and execution of control strategies around new 12/48V EP technologies and ATW projects: enabling multiple batteries in one battery supporting 12/12V, 12/48V, etc., and providing an innovative diagnoseable and scalable power distribution system both licensed to multiple Tier 1 and Tier 2 partners.

Responsibilities: Design and Release Engineer will be responsible for leading a product development team (PDT) and managing the development and release of new Li-Ion Battery technology and subsystem in support of program timing and execution Evaluate deliverables from the ATW team to ensure the design, development, and release of hardware components are robustly integrated within the vehicle architecture with quality Manage supplier timing; Running PDT meetings; Issue investigation and resolution; Ensuring part and/or software deliveries to benches, vehicles, and assembly plants; etc. Work closely with the 12/48V Li-Ion Software System Integration DRE to support integration of software into hardware for high quality integration May require HW DRE supporting retrofits or updating of hardware with latest software throughout development and launch as required Own the component Statement of Requirements, component timing plan, issues, etc. ensuring completeness and accuracy as well as managing changes as required As a Design and Release Engineer, you will work with 3D math modeling to study packaging of components and surrounding interfaces; This includes reviewing math data and working with design team and/or supply base to ensure accuracy and manage design changes to math as required Support development of system or component requirements, including managing CTS compliance matrix deviations and reviewing potential updates to CTS/CTRS with Tech Specialist

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Engineering - BSEE or BSME required, MSEE or MSME preferred Minimum 3 years of relevant Design Release experience required; 5+ years strongly preferred Minimum 3 years of automotive industry experience required Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle

Preferred Qualifications: Master/s degree in Engineering or MBA preferred DFSS Black Belt Certification preferred 5+ years of DRE experience 3+ years of experience in battery development, experience with Li Ion strongly preferred Familiarity with CAE methods/processes Familiarity with Vehicle Development and Production Launch process Understanding of engineering theory and principles of mechanical/electrical mechanisms Ability to multitask by handling diverse assignments concurrently Self-starter and self-motivated Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles, teamwork skills, and communication methods to work effectively with cross-functional and cross-cultural business partners to meet mutual goals High level of oral and written communication skills High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others Knowledge of engineering software and systems as it pertains to job-related area
