Digital Content Producer
Michigan, Flint, 48501 Flint USAWEYI/WBSF of Flint, MI has an immediate opening for a Digital Content Producer. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating engaging content and social media posts that will drive audience engagement and help bolster our digital presence. We have a Digital Content Center, and want to offer digital and social users' coverage they care about, the kind that impacts their lives and which they cannot find anywhere else. In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day content on our digital platforms, along with the ability to move and assign crews strategically. This position will consistently look for and create a diverse range of web content from a variety of sources.The ideal candidate will have:
Solid news judgment
Be a compelling and accurate writer
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to assist in the efficient operations of the assignment desk
Flexibility and on-the-spot problem solving abilities are a must
Proficient with non-linear editing (i.e. Avid) and newsroom systems, such as iNews
Requirements and Qualifications:
Must be proficient with the use of multiple video-sharing and social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, x (formerly Twitter) TikTok and emerging social media platforms
Commitment to journalistic standards of ethics and accuracy
Creative in cross-promotions between on-air and online, and work closely with producers and reporters in helping ensure content is posted quickly and accurately online
Must be proficient in AP Style
Ability to execute news strategies and goals
Must be able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Experience:
Must have previous writing or digital producing experience on one or more digital platforms or at a commercial TV station is preferred, although the right entry-level candidate may be considered
Journalism degree is preferred
