Paving Foreman / Supervisor

D&J Contracting is a full-service paving, sealing coating and concrete contractor. We have been in business for 36 years and are seeking to hire a person to help manage the work in the field along with representing D & J Contracting when speaking with customers, engineers, City Officials & Inspectors. This is a combination hands on field supervisor as well as working in the office. Experience in the paving industry is required. This position is a year-round full-time position and training will be provided.

This role will require a high level of professionalism, the person filling this role will be responsible to run and manage the projects as well as meet with clients, engineers, city officials. You will work both in the field as well as the office and will report directly to the owners.

Ability to follow orders / direction.

Ability to read plans / drawings.

Ability to calculate grades from engineered plans or benchmarks.

Must have strong math skills.

Must have strong phone / people skills.

Ability to direct and keep multiple personnel productive on job sites.

Manage scheduling for concrete, asphalt, stone, trucking, equipment, subcontractors etc. as necessary for job completion.

Ability to converse with property owners / representatives, engineers, city officials & inspectors in a professional manner.

Have experience in operating equipment effectively, efficiently & safely.

Have experience in paving / concrete industry.

Ability to train others.

General Knowledge of Paving, Seal Coating, Crack Filling.

Must be professional, organized, motivated and comfortable working on a computer.

Must be comfortable performing field work and leading crews.

Must have excellent communication skills.

Must be adaptable and willing do what is needed to successfully complete a project.

Punctual, dependable and able to work within allotted timeframes.
