Sr. Mechanical Engineer

AECOM Technical Services, Inc. is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer in Detroit, MI.Job Details:Perform mechanical engineering from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy.Develop designs within a BIM design environment.Develop, design, and specify equipment, components, and materials for projects in conjunction with correlating basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures and in alignment with engineering design and performance specifications.Coordinate with other disciplines to produce complete and well-coordinated documents.Organize and conduct site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of mechanical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes.Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.Identify discrepancies in results.Perform work in accordance with agreed-upon budgets and schedules with little supervision.Complete assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client-specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.Attend meetings with owners, clients, and architects as needed.Review submittals, including shop drawings, to determine conformance with construction documents.Research, design, and evaluate mechanical products, equipment, systems, and processes to meet requirements and apply knowledge of engineering principles.Up to 10% domestic travel required.Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.Passing of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
