Perform ophthalmic test and procedures with proficiency in the ophthalmic sub-specialties.

Coordinate follow-up care of patients.

Assist in training and coordinating the work of ophthalmic assistants and technicians and interns.

Actively assist in clinic workflow, scheduling of technicians, communicating delays to patients.

Onboarding of new employees.

Other duties as directed by supervisor.

Provide exceptional patient service.

Assist in clinical procedures.

Required Qualifications

Graduation from high school

Completion of Michigan Medicine's 12-week training program OR 1 year experience as in Eye Care/Ophthalmology.

Certification as an Ophthalmic Asst within one year of employment.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Experience with computer keyboards and applicable software (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook or equivalent)

Intermediate Level

Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) with 5 years? experience OR Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT).

Senior Level

Certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) with 10 years? experience OR Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) OR Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technician (COMT).

Desired Qualifications

Experience with the MiChart (Epic) electronic health record (EHR) system or similar system.

Work ScheduleFull Time hours, 40 hours per week, Monday-Saturday schedule will vary depending on clinic.Modes of WorkPositions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department.
