Regulatory Affairs Specialist III, Regulatory Intelligence and Environmental Compliance

This Regulatory Affairs Specialist role will be responsible for coordinating global product regulatory intelligence across the organization with particular focus on Environmental Compliance. To ensure timely product introductions and sustaining compliance activities, the incumbent will triage inputs, coordinate calls for comments, and communicate regulatory trends and changes across all levels in the organization.Through partnering with divisional and topical subject matter experts, the Regulatory Intelligence Specialist will be encouraged to develop an understanding of product attributes and regulatory applicability. The role will develop and maintain a regular communication mechanism and cadence which can be scaled to meet the business need. The position will also support governmental and regulatory advocacy activities through active engagement with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s trade associations and direct interaction with regulatory agencies.The applicant should have a broad understanding of environmental regulations such as REACH and RoHS (and the global versions of those regulations), Prop 65, WFD, SCIP, etc. and familiarity with global EPR regulations and obligations. The ideal candidate will be someone who has an operational understanding of these regulations and the declarations, reporting and submissions they require, has experience working with regulatory agencies and flourishes with working with diverse challenges. Maintain sustaining mechanisms for communicating regulatory news and trends.

Act as principal liaison between business and regional subject matter experts.

Champion use and deliver training on regulatory intelligence platforms.

Interact with regulatory experts, trade associations and business stakeholders.

Organize, lead, and facilitate projects critical for managing internal and external information on regulatory trends and updates.

Coordinate regional regulatory intelligence sources and inputs.

Provide internal communication and training on regulatory trends and updates.

Contribute to corporate Product Legislation Compliance standards and policies Contribute to public commentary and other regulatory advocacy efforts relevant to the organization’s product lines.

Develop, refine, and maintain training on corporate standards for meeting the company’s Environmental Compliance obligations.

Contribute to calls for information and comments relating to environmental regulations.

Be a proactive and effective communicator.

Domestic/international travel (5-10%)

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent work experience of 4- 6 years) in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Engineering (EE/ME/Materials), Law or related subject

Experience working with international product regulations (chemical, environmental or product safety)
