Apply today! location: Somerville, Massachusettsjob type: Permanentsalary: $75,000 - 85,000 per yearwork hours: 8am to 5pmeducation: Bachelors responsibilities:The Database Developer's role is to plan, coordinate, implement, and supervise all activities related to the integration of disparate data and systems into organizational information systems and structures. This individual is responsible for planning and implementing the processes required for the utilization of on-premises and cloud-based applications and systems, as well as data transfers and integrations. The developer will be expected to develop and maintain ETL processes and data pipelines using tools such as SSMS, SSIS, and Visual Studio. This role will also be responsible for validating, assessing, and improving data quality as well as maintaining relevant process documentation and data dictionaries. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Develop and maintain a solid grasp of the organization's fundraising CRM application, Blackbaud CRM.
- Design and implement ETL solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), stored procedures and functions
- Develop, test, monitor, manage, data warehouse processes, using both OLTP and local data sources, including data extraction, transformation, loading, cleansing, and updates.
- Identify, design, and implement technical solutions and internal process improvements: automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery
- Design optimized SQL code to extract, summarize, aggregate and present data.
- Create, schedule, and monitor data processing jobs in SSMS, to ensure timely troubleshooting of failures are addressed
- Contribute to system architectural design and planning discussions.
- Interact closely with business owners to capture requirements and translate business use cases into data models and data integration processes.
- Design and implement data quality and data validation functions as a key part of the delivered solution
- Ensure that any new software integration into the organization systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, data privacy, data warehousing, and other specifications.
- Gauge the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems; develop and implement strategies for improving or further enhancing these systems.
- Prepare documentation on all projects to support technical peer reviews and ensure continuity of quality data products.
- Commitment to continuous learning and self-motivated to evaluate new tools and technologies as related to the job function and beyond.
