Restoration Shop Assistant – Frames, Furniture & Art (Part-Time)

Manzi Appraisers & Restoration, working in partnership with Manzi Marketplace, is hiring a part-time Restoration Shop Assistant to support fine art, frame, and furniture restoration work in our Woburn shop and showroom.

This is hands-on shop work — not retail, not construction. You’ll work closely with a small, experienced team handling quality furniture, artwork, and decorative objects prepared for restoration, display, and sale through Manzi Marketplace. We’re looking for someone reliable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with their hands.

What you’ll do

You’ll be hands-on in the shop supporting art and furniture projects. Frame work is a central part of this role and a regular focus, alongside furniture, upholstery, and general shop support.

- Take apart picture frames for restoration and conservation prep (removing backing, wire, hardware, glazing)

- Clean and prep frame components, then re-paper, re-wire, and reassemble with care

- Safely handle artwork during unframing and reframing

- Support the Furniture Restoration Lead with light furniture repairs, stabilization, and prep

- Assist upholsterers with cleaning, prep work, and staging

- Help move, protect, and reassemble furniture during restoration

- Assist with local pickups and deliveries

- Keep shop work areas, tools, and loading areas clean, organized, and safe

- Training is provided. Experience is helpful, but care, patience, reliability, and pride in doing things right matter most.

Schedule & Pay

- Tue–Fri, approx. 11:00 AM–5:00 PM (24 hrs/week, paid meal break)

- $21/hour (based on experience)

- Part-time, in-shop position

Requirements

- Valid driver’s license

- Comfortable with hands-on shop work

- Ability to safely lift and move items up to approximately 75 lbs with team support

- Dependable, detail-oriented, professional
