This individual will have a proven track record in the horticulture industry with personnel management, the ability to prioritize daily and seasonal tasks, and can cultivate and maintain intimate client relations. TheField Managerworks closely with Field Directors, Crew Leads, and their own team of fine gardeners to ensure the highest quality garden care for client’s properties and provides support and training to their team of gardeners.To be a successful part of our management structure, TheField Managermust possess and maintain a high level of professional communication with clients, gardeners, sub-contractors, and upper management.While our offices are located in Billerica, you will be expected to travel to our clients in Belmont, Boston, Cambridge, Dedham, Dover, Lexington, Newton, Wellesley, Weston, Winchester, among others.ResponsibilitiesManage approximately 30 client properties and all seasonal garden maintenance needs, including but not limited to container planting, landscape management, and holiday décorManage and provide oversight of all subcontracted work on properties as well as manage and oversee client budgetsTimely utilization of our CRM software to manage all aspects of accounting, scheduling, and proposal writing.Ability to apply creative solutions for complex problemsIdentify sales opportunities to enhance clients’ spaces and work with the sales team to see the sale through from concept to completion.Provide on-site training and ongoing mentoring, with Crew Lead assistance, to assigned team membersEnsure a high level of detail in all workContribute to and promote the Parterre brand to clients and industry peersRequirementsPossess strong background in horticulture and have working knowledge of annual and perennial plant material utilized in bed plantings and seasonal containersWorking knowledge of lawn care, pest identification, irrigation, arbor care, and proper pruning practicesExperience overseeing crews and managing field workProfessional and excellent communication skillsStrong attention to detail, problem solving and organizational skills a mustSense of aesthetics, color, and an eye for designAbility to lift 40 lbsValid driver’s license and clean driving recordAbility to write clear and succinct daily field journal entriesThree year minimum tending perennial gardens, caring for shrubs, pruning trees to 12’, and personnel managementWhat We OfferCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceOpportunities for professional development and growthHealth, Dental and Vision InsuranceOpportunity for quarterly bonusTraining programEducational reimbursement for horticulture-related study, subject to approvalA supportive and collaborative work environmentUse of a company vehicle for work purposesThis is a full-time, seasonal position (March-December).
