Live-in Caregiver and Companion

Looking for a trustworthy, dedicated and responsible male to move into this home and provide support as a live-in caregiver, assuring his safety 24/7 and providing an active companionship when he's at home. The individual you will support is a 51-year-old man who has cognitive, visual and speech challenges. He is out-going, cheerful, caring and energetic. He has keen interests in movies and TV shows from the 70s + 80s, sports (especially Boston Red Sox, Patriots, and WWE), and dining out. You will need to be attentive, keep him engaged, have an eye for detail and exhibit a commitment prioritizing the individual's health and safety.

The individual is very energetic, fun-loving with a great sense of humor and active in the community. The ideal candidate must have a personality and energy level that matches his own! Living with this individual and preserving his independence wherever possible, you will be an integral leader of the individual’s team which includes companions, personal trainers and a music instructor. Your role will breakdown as follows:

30% Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (including Hygiene maintenance/Grooming/Medication Administration/Clothing, etc)

20% Food Planning, Cooking & Dining together

20% Social Activity / Entertainment Planning & Participating

10% Laundry

10% Transportation

5% Home Organization

5% Administrative Tasks: paying bills, scheduling and attending doctor’s appointments, calendaring

You should have at least 2 years of experience in a caregiver role with adults, strong organizational skills, be a self-starter with awareness of safety and physical challenges associated with visually and cognitively impaired and a willingness to be active in the community in an effort to diversify this individual’s days.

Certification in CPR and First Aid necessary (will train). Vehicle with a clean and valid driver's license important. NON SMOKERS ONLY. Attractive non taxable monthly stipend ($4700+) with no living expenses (rent, bills, groceries included!). In this role you will share a luxury 3 bedroom condominium with the individual, conveniently located in the highly desirable Beacon St, area of Brookline. Amenities include concierge, swimming pool, small gym and garage parking.
