Position: Sales Representative/Lead Dispatcher
We are seeking a dynamic Lead Dispatcher to help grow our book of business. In this role, you will focus on securing long-term freight contracts with producers, shippers, and brokers by completing RFPs, while also filling gaps by securing ad-hoc freight using LoadLink and DAT. A successful candidate will be a team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels in communication, possesses a "hustler" mindset, and has a proven track record of success in sales and operations.
Responsibilities:
- Primary responsibility is to grow the company’s book of business by interacting with brokers, cold-calling potential clients, and onboarding new customers.
- Book outbound and inbound shipments using DAT and Loadlink as tasked by the operations team lead to complete trips for drivers.
- Leverage advanced knowledge of freight rates and seasonal impacts to prepare and respond to RFPs, securing new business opportunities.
- Manage cross-border shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations and processes, including the use of BorderConnect.
- Review and ensure accuracy of freight contracts, customer invoices, Bills of Lading (BOLs), and insurance certificates to guarantee shipment compliance.
- Collaborate closely with planners, track-and-trace personnel, order entry, and accounting teams to ensure seamless operations.
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to resolve issues and ensure operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the trucking or freight industry.
- Advanced knowledge of freight rates and their fluctuation based on seasonality.
- Familiarity with cross-border logistics and related documentation requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications and general computer operations.
- Strong sales and communication skills with a creative, resourceful, and quick-learning approach.
- A solid understanding of the trucking industry, its regulations, and operational processes.
- Fluency in English and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential.
