Work individually or as part of a team to provide execution on client engagements, reporting to senior management key findings and resolving any issues that may not be compliant with Federal and State laws.

Assess internal audit/SOX controls and perform operational audits, risk reviews and assessments for assigned clients, developing risk perspectives and internal control recommendations based on a thorough understanding of business processes.

Ensure project quality control and oversight management of client engagements from start to finish, including adequate planning, execution, and direction while managing to budget.

Employ time and engagement management skills to monitor progression of concurrently running internal audit and risk management projects for multiple clients consistent with established scopes, budgets and time frames.

Maintain a strong client focus by understanding the client’s business needs while developing productive working relationships with client personnel in order to accomplish audit objectives.

Support the development of new services and solutions, including data analytics, process automation, compliance management systems, and targeted audit solutions.

Demonstrate the ability to assess risks and identify and test controls specifically related to different types of investments, particularly investment assets that are not publicly traded or require valuations.

Supervise, train, and mentor staff and senior associates.

Learn and understand the Firm and its professional service lines. Actively encourage team members to contribute ideas and identify potential opportunities to apply Cherry Bekaert's services.

What you bring to this role:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.

Relevant professional credential (complete or in-process): CPA, CIA, CFSA, CBA or CFE.

Minimum 4 years of experience working as an Internal Auditor, Compliance Analyst/Officer or Risk Advisor in a public accounting or professional services firm, or corporate environment.

Avid problem solver with the ability to understand complex processes and programs using your experience in accounting, systems, data, and compliance.

Strong risk management experience able to support the writing reports of control descriptions, internal control findings and recommendations.

Ability to serve on and manage multiple Internal Audit engagements at a time, working with team members throughout our firm.

Significant experience in applying relevant technical, regulatory and industry knowledge.

Excellent written and verbal communication capable of managing projects, client expectations and deliverable development.

Interest in business development and recruiting.

Ability to travel as required to client locations (10% throughout the year); majority within the firm’s footprint in the Eastern Standard Time zone.

Additional, nice to have qualifications/competencies:

Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Progressive use of data capabilities to improve servicing operations; may include process automation, data analytics techniques and/or workflow management systems.

Individual salaries within this range are determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geographic location.
