Accounts Receivable Clerk

Description Robert Half is seeking an Accounts Receivable Clerk with a growing company. In this role you will play a crucial role in their finance department, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of receivables and collections. You will be responsible for maintaining accounts receivable records, reconciling accounts, and assisting with the collection efforts. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess excellent communication skills. This is a contract opportunity located in Hunt Valley, Maryland.

Process and post incoming payments accurately and efficiently

Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted

Follow up with clients regarding outstanding balances and assist in collections efforts

Generate and distribute invoices to customers

Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or issues

Maintain accurate customer records and update account information as needed

Prepare reports detailing accounts receivable status and aging analysis

Collaborate with other departments to resolve customer inquiries or disputes

Assist with month-end closing procedures as necessary

Requirements

Proven experience as an Accounts Receivable Clerk or similar role

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Intermediate level)

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Prior experience with account reconciliations, collections, and posting payments is required

Familiarity with accounting software
