C-HIT is seeking someone with HCD experience driven by an empathetic understanding of provider and patient needs. You will lead a team of researchers and support staff responsible for digging into tough areas that impact those involved in the CMS ecosystem, both internally and externally. While pursuing this research we will also be looking to help evolve HCD processes CMS has in place and training staff as appropriate.
IDEAL CANDIDATE:- Is an expert in the Human-Centered Design processes and is eager to implement the intent of these processes towards impacting policy and process
- Has led a team of researchers in policy and process research endeavors
- Can coordinate a team focused on specific topics, with the ability to help the team pivot with agility if necessary
- Comfortable being accountable for highly visible and engaging work
- Strong ability to understand the larger CMS ecosystem and health care space and ensure work performed is always working in that context
- Develop an expert understanding of the users needs and champion these in key deliverables
- Will engage closely with the Program Coordinator and our CMS partners to build and prioritize the research work within specific projects and expectations for deliverables of those efforts
- Works with the team and CMS to set measurable goals and report against these to demonstrate progress against stated benefits
- Will collaborate with the Program Coordinator, government staff, and peers to apply qualitative and quantitative HCD research methods to identify experience journeys, pain points, and actionable items to provide back to CMS teams
- Is a persuasive communicator, able to effectively explain HCD/UX benefits, methods, strategy, and research findings to teammates, agency leadership, and interested lay audiences
- Has experience executing HCD activities within an Agile approach
- Has developed and/or provided formal and informal HCD workshops and training
- Participate actively in research planning and execution of research and design activities
- Provide mentorship to staff and technical teammates to enhance both the quality of practice and practice maturity
- Transforms data and findings into actionable, plain language recommendations, visualizations and research artifacts that capture and convey research insights techniques (e.g., journey maps, personas, wireframes, task flows, prototypes)
- Is a strong communicator with excellent, persuasive written and visual communication skills
- Your portfolio which will showcase your experience with conducting best-practice audits, planning, conducting and driving design change based on ethnographic and task-analytic interviews, cognitive decision modeling, usability testing, web analytics and other methodologies as appropriate.
- Discuss your work as an independent contributor, team member, and team lead
- Familiarity with/experience applying Federal guidelines, regulations and orders governing equivalent access to technology/web-delivered services, web standards and HCD research
- Familiarity and/or experience with the CMS ecosystem
- Familiarity in Agile processes (such as Scrum and Kanban)
