NPosition Type ManagementJOB SUMMARYThe Senior Manager of Data Operations Digital is a member of the Strategy, Business Intelligence, and Data Operations (SBID) organization and an integral part of Marriott’s Customer group. This position will collaborate with data engineers/scientists, digital operations, digital and marketing analytics, and cross-functional leaders to enable platforms to ingest and transform data, integrate multiple data sources, and recommend proactive measures to enable better business decisions every day. The Senior Manager will partner with Global Technology to implement departmental strategies and ensure the integration of digital analytics, product catalog, and order management. The Senior Manager will also contribute to improving the quality of data capabilities and support other key initiatives in data governance, data management, and analytics.We are looking for a driven individual with a product mindset, strong consulting skills, a SQL programming background to manage data products in Snowflake for enabling reporting and analytics robust data pipelines, and experience with cloud computing & modern data warehousing environments. The primary responsibilities include understanding business requirements, developing appropriate data solutions, and delivering high-quality results while working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong technical skills in SQL programming are crucial, with the individual expected to use their expertise to unlock the full potential of data within Snowflake. The optimal candidate is expected to have a deep understanding of Adobe clickstream & funnel data, and to use this knowledge to deliver optimal reporting and analytics solutions.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and Experience Required

4-year degree from an accredited university in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or similar quantitative discipline

Four or more years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, data warehousing, or data science OR Two or more years of progressive experience in data management, analytics, data warehousing, or data science and a Master's degree

Strong background in SQL for data analysis and new dataset development.

Experience with design and engineering of complex data flows and systems in the Digital Analytics industry/domain preferred.

Experience with Adobe Analytics and/or Google Analytics data/tools preferred

Technical Skills

Cloud Data Warehouse (Snowflake - preferred, Big Query/Redshift & traditional data warehouses considered)

Cloud Data Platform (AWS - preferred, Azure/GCP/Hadoop also considered)

Data Analysis/Programming languages (SQL, Python, Spark)

Data Visualization (Tableau and Power BI)

Digital & Marketing Tech (Adobe ecosystem)

Education and Experience Preferred

MS or MBA

Adobe or Google Analytics Certification or background

Industry background with digital & marketing data to enable omnichannel customer experience & measurement.

Proven track record of solid consulting skills and experience working with large-scale data and analytics projects.CORE WORK ACTIVITIESDemonstrating and Applying Discipline Knowledge

Manage data product development using Snowflake SQL and/or Spark including:

Facilitate data integration & exchanges with Digital and Marketing Operations

Contribute to data strategy, data management, and enhanced data products for use by the Digital discipline.

Query digital data to provide validation, research data quality issues, answer stakeholder questions, provide detailed requirements, and produce data product documentation.

Design data products in Snowflake for enabling reporting and analytics.

Develop & automate data engineering jobs using stored procedures & task schedulers.

Identify new ways of engineering existing data or acquiring new data sources to support development of customer data products.

Act as a bridge between IT and analytics teams facilitating data shares in a timely and accurate manner.

Collaborate with peers and Director, Data & Marketing Ops to develop systems and technologies that promotes automation & monitoring.

Act as a trusted subject matter expert & partner with analytics teams to make recommendations on data usage.

Perform user acceptance testing and build quality assurance plans for new data products.

Managing Responsibilities with Stakeholders

Develops and maintains effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders across the organization. Fosters a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to organizational goals and initiatives.

Updates stakeholders on key initiative wins and opportunities, responds to concerns, and solicits feedback. Engages leadership to develop and execute action plans to address gaps.
