We are seeking a friendly, reliable, and skilled Breakfast Cook & Guest Service Attendant to prepare and serve daily breakfast for our bed and breakfast guests. This role is responsible for meal preparation, guest interaction during breakfast service, and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are thoroughly cleaned and reset after service. The ideal candidate enjoys hospitality, takes pride in food quality, and creates a warm, welcoming experience for guests.
Key Responsibilities:
Breakfast Preparation & Cooking
- Prepare and cook daily breakfast items according to the menu and guest dietary needs
- Ensure food is fresh, well-presented, and served at proper temperatures
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient preparation
- Monitor food inventory and communicate supply needs
Guest Service
- Greet guests warmly and provide an enjoyable breakfast experience
- Serve plated meals or manage buffet service
- Answer guest questions about menu items and accommodate reasonable dietary requests
- Maintain a professional, friendly presence in the dining area
Clean-Up & Kitchen Maintenance
- Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment, dishes, and utensils after breakfast service
- Clear, clean, and reset dining tables and breakfast service areas
- Properly store leftover food according to food safety guidelines
- Dispose of trash and recycling appropriately
- Ensure kitchen and dining areas meet cleanliness and health standards
Food Safety & Compliance
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Schedule:
- Typical start time between 6:00 a.m. and 6:30 a.m.
- Shift end time between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.
- Weekend and holiday availability may be required
Qualifications:
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience (breakfast or hospitality preferred)
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
