Lead and Experienced Carpenters

We are seeking skilled and passionate Carpenters to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn along with an interest in sustainability and green building practices. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in constructing high-quality, environmentally responsible homes and projects, that reflect our company's values and commitment to design, integrity, and The Pretty Good House mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform all aspects of carpentry work, including framing, finishing, and installation.
Supporting the leadership team and lead carpenters with job site responsibilities and scheduling requirements.
Ensure that construction activities comply with relevant sustainability standards, codes, and certifications.
Participate in site assessments and contribute to the development of sustainable building plans and strategies.
Stay updated on emerging trends and best practices in construction and sustainable construction and incorporate new techniques and technologies into projects.
Maintain a safe and organized work environment, adhering to all safety regulations and protocols.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a carpenter, with a minimum of [4] years of relevant work experience in residential construction.
Strong knowledge of or willingness to learn sustainable building practices, materials, and techniques.
Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools commonly used in carpentry work.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
Effective communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with colleagues, clients, and subcontractors.
Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks requiring lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
A reliable, construction-appropriate transportation; and a Maine Driver’s License in good standing.
Being a good fit with our existing crew is critical.

This is a full-time position averaging 35-40 hours per week.
