Shipping and Receiving Specialist I

The successful candidate will enjoy performing a variety of tasks at a fast pace to meet the challenges of shipping medical devices. Shipping & Receiving personnel support MMQCI customers by accurately processing, packaging, shipping, and tracking customer orders for world-wide distribution. They support MMQCI’s internal departments by receiving incoming supplies and updating and verifying inventory. This person enjoys being well-organized and performing detailed tasks according to established written Quality System procedures. It is expected that the Shipping and Receiving Specialist I will rapidly develop sufficient expertise to function independently with minimal supervision.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reconciles customer orders to QuickBooks shipping report.

Fulfills customer orders on time by pulling the required MMQCI products from inventory and preparing packages for shipment according to the appropriate cold chain requirements.

Collaborates and communicates with all internal departments, vendors, and others involved in the shipment and receipt of products.

Documents all work with 100% accuracy in a timely manner.

Completes and delivers appropriate shipping documentation for invoicing.

Maintains finished goods inventory and performs weekly and monthly inventory checks.

Maintains daily kit lot log transcription and filing.

Receives, inspects, and delivers supplies to the appropriate area.

Assists with inventory of general lab supplies and relays order requests to Purchasing as needed.

Assists with restocking various areas of MMQCI laboratories, including the Environmentally Controlled Area, as needed.

Assists with customer order processing and review of orders as needed.

Preps shipping area daily, boxes, shipping inventory, supplies, labels, dry ice, gel packs, etc.

Stays current with procedures and makes recommendations for process improvements to managers.

Follows MMQCI’s protocols to protect product integrity, including repetitive cleaning of benches, and donning of gloves, booties, lab coats, facemasks and hairnets and other Personal Protective Equipment as appropriate.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

High School diploma is required. Associates is preferred.

Previous experience with materials management is preferred.

Ability to perform procedures quickly but with stringent accuracy and attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills.

Good oral and written communication skills

Basic computer skills including Excel.

Experience in a GMP or ISO quality system industrial environment is desired.

Must be a nonsmoker due to product contamination prevention requirements.

Moderate lifting, walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching and twisting required. Must be able to stand for several hours and lift approximately 50 lbs.
