IL LEONE hiring Pizza Line Cook for 2025 Season

Il Leone is a wood fired Neapolitan pizza garden on Peaks Island, Maine, offering a unique island dining experience just a 15 minute ferry ride from downtown Portland, with ferries running nearly every hour. Il Leone’s pizza is 100 percent naturally leavened with a 72 hour sourdough fermentation, and produced using ingredients sourced from Maine organic farms and Italy - “wood fired pizza magic,” according to the New York Times!

Il Leone is seeking Pizza Line Cooks for our 2025 season lasting from approximately Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend, with a full time and a part time position available.

Pizza experience is welcomed but not required for the right candidate if one has a passion to learn and master our style of pizza making (although some line/culinary experience is required).

Pizza Line Cooks play an integral role in the pizza making process from stretching and topping pizzas to working the wood fired oven once candidates undergo training. Additional responsibilities include daily prep; helping with daily setup and clean up; preparing salads and side dishes during service; assisting with expo as needed and supporting our dough program as needed.

Perks include working in a very special outdoor kitchen atmosphere on a beautiful Maine island in the summer alongside an incredible group of people, with opportunities for daily beach breaks and dips in the ocean. Ferry tickets are included as well if commuting from Portland and a pizza on the house is provided for all team members every shift!

Access to affordable on-island housing may be available as well.
