Coffee By Design is seeking an Accounting / Human Resources Specialist, to be based in their Portland, Maine location.

Requirements of the Accounting / HR Specialist:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience in accounting and HR.

Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures.

Experience with labor relations.

Advanced MS Excel skills.

Experience with budgets, reporting, and general ledger management

Experience with QuickBooks, Shopify, and Square

Experience with contracts and renewals

Responsibilities of the Accounting / HR Specialist:

Verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.

Maintain company payroll records and tax filings.

Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.

Responsible for employee-related matters, including HR compliance, new hire onboarding and records management, and benefits plan management.

Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending.

Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

Prepare financial statements.

Maintain business-related insurance plans and binders; manage renewals and audits.

Ensure compliance with internal procedures and maintain accurate records and ledgers.
