Join our innovative and dynamic team at CAMO’s kitchen in New Orleans! Hiring Breakfast Cook – AM shift. Competitive pay, equal share of tips, growth opportunities, and a supportive team. Minimum 1 year prep/line cook experience required. Weekend availability and morning shift coverage are required.Job Details: Key Responsibilities: Prepares food to specifications before and during unit operations Properly measuresand portions all food items.Complies withallportionsizes, quality standards, department rules,policiesand procedures Cooks all food to proper specificationsin a timely manner Utilizes kitchen equipment to prepare food items such as: knives, slicers, whips, pots, pans, warmers, steamers, grills, ovens, etc. Ensures proper food temperatures aremaintainedand food is stored correctlyin accordancewithcurrenthealth and food handling regulations Ensures freshness and quality of all menu items Performs opening, closing and side work duties as instructedon daily checklists Keeps workstation,coolersand equipment clean, organized, sanitized, and sufficiently stocked Follows and upholds all health codes and sanitation regulations Sets up,operatesand maintainskitchen equipment Uses waste control guidelines and records all waste Uses proper documentation to record all food production Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the manager Labeling and storingallproductsto company standards Washing,choppingand sorting ingredients like fruits,vegetablesand meats Cleaning dishes, washing cooking utensils and cookware and sanitizing kitchen Works hand in hand with manager, runners,cooksand hotel staff in a safe, respectful manner Expected toassistwith inventory counts when needed Following all company policies and procedures Job qualifications: At least one years' experience as a Prep Cook or Line Cook Weekend availability Ability to read and understand recipes and food abbreviations Ability to move rapidly and coordinate multiple orders Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Attentive and detailed oriented Capable of following procedures and taking directions Basic math skills; ability to understand, calculate and follow recipe measurements and proportions Louisiana Food Handler Certification
