Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in any field of study

Required Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities project management.

Proven track record of managing multiple facilities projects simultaneously.

Specific experience, training and education may be substituted for the required education or experience.

A bachelor’s degree can be substituted for an associate's degree in construction management.

Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations

Excellent project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.

Proficiency in project management software and tolls.

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and individuals

Preferred Qualifications:Preferred Education:

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or a related field.

Certifications/Licenses

Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional Certification (PMP).

Preferred Experience:

A minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities project management.

Job ConceptsThe Facilities Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction of facilities projects at Baton Rouge Community College. This includes managing all phases of construction projects from inception through completion, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. The Facilities Project Manager will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and various college stakeholders to ensure that the facilities meet the needs of the community college.

Project Planning and Development:

Develop projects scopes, budgets, and schedules.

Coordinate with College administration and departments to identify facility needs and priorities.

Design and Construction Management:

Manage the selection process for architects, engineers, and contractors.

Oversee the design process to ensure alignment with project goals and college standards.

Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and safety standards.

Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and address any issues.

Budget and Cost Management:

Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness.

Approve expenditures and manage project costs to stay within budget.

Review and approve change orders

Regulatory Compliance

Ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local buildings codes and regulations.

Obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies.

Maintain thorough documentation of compliance activities

Stakeholder Communication and Coordination

Act as the primary liaison between the college and external contractors and consultants.

Facilitate communication and coordination amount various stakeholders, including college administration, faculty, staff, and students.

Provide regular updates on project status to college leadership.

Risk Management:

Identify potential risks an develop mitigation strategies.

Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during the project lifecycle.

Quality Assurance

Implement quality control procedures to ensure project deliverables meet specified standards.

Conduct final inspections and ensure successful project closeout.
