They empower employees, community members and initiatives across their service territory through volunteerism and investments in organizations that support education, sustainability and wellbeing.OverviewResponsible for payroll processing, corrections, maintenance, filing, reconciliations, employment verifications, tax returns, etc.ResponsibilitiesEnsures confidentiality of all information.Performs various payroll calculations and correction of errors.Verifies all required payroll information for new employees in the system.Reviews all Volts (timekeeping system) time entry and PeopleSoft (Human Resource system) data updates within Volts.Calculates and prepares off cycle checks as needed.Maintains and balances spreadsheets of monthly, quarterly and annual tax data for required reporting.Prepares and remits monthly, quarterly and yearly tax returns.Calculate and remit Bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly tax deposits.Balance, process and mail W-2 forms.Verifies data changes, transfers and terminations in Peoplesoft.Data entry and inquiry.Maintains records and controls for certain deduction and other information as assigned or required.Balance bi-weekly payroll reports including earnings, deductions and taxes.Prints, sorts and mails payroll checks and direct deposit advices.Liaison with management concerning payroll matters.Completes employment verifications and assists in answering payroll department phone callsUtilizes the Bank of America (BOA) portal for uploading direct deposit and positive pay files.Responds appropriately and timely to employee questions and corrections.Process relocation.Process STIRemit payroll deductions.Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.QualificationsEducation/Experience/QualificationsHigh school diploma/GED and a minimum of 5 years of payroll experience. Requires a sound knowledge of established payroll procedures and Company policy as it relates to payroll matters.Preferred QualificationsAble to organize statistical information and apply bookkeeping principles. The ability to comprehend and apply computer-generated payroll techniques. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and other software packages. Successfully able to multitask.
