Veterinary Assistant Position
Indiana, Bloomington, 47401 Bloomington USAPublic Vet is looking for new team members for our Indiana operations. We are looking for licensed RVT’s and unlicensed veterinary assistants. We provide on the job training. Our clinic is based out of Bloomington, IN.
We are a nonprofit mobile veterinary practice that provides feline spay/neuter services to communities throughout Indiana. Our team(s) are based in Bloomington and travel to different towns each weekend to provide essential vet care. We typically host our clinics in 3-day runs on either Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday schedules. Each clinic day lasts up to 12 hours, which includes the setting up and breaking down of our equipment at each location.

The Job:
Working side-by-side with veterinarian sedating and preparing cats for surgery
Assisting clients during clinic check-in
Moving animal crates and helping setup clinic equipment
Cleaning and disinfecting clinic surfaces at the end of each clinic day
Hotel accommodations and travel stipends for overnight stays
Full or part-time positions are possible, but a regular schedule is necessary
The Requirements:
Must be able to work 12-hour days, which includes standing, squatting, and moving quickly
Must be available to work weekends (typically a 3-day Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon work schedule)
Clean driving history for the last 2 years
Willingness to study and master medical materials and techniques
Self-motivated, hardworking, and able to maintain a clean, friendly, and professional appearance
Strong multitasking abilities and comfort working in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to handle problems in a fast efficient manner without supervision
Must be comfortable working with crowds, be able to communicate / educate effectively
Must be a team worker
