Associate Data Engineer

The Data Engineer will join our Enterprise Reporting Team with a focus on Data Architecture. In the same way that an architect helps builders transform raw materials into buildings, a Data Engineer focusing on data architecture helps transform raw data into information. Instead of designing structures like strip malls or distribution centers, a data engineer designs structures like data marts or data warehouses.  These structures integrate data from multiple systems across the enterprise to power the reports and dashboards central to RR Donnelley’s decisions and processes.   Responsibilities: Analysis/Design: Analyze business requirements for projects of small to medium scope and complexity. Assist with the gathering of requirements from end usersCoding: Write, test, and debug routine to moderately complex SQL queries, DML scripts, and DDL scriptsTesting: Under general supervision, analyze and document test results to ensure that technical requirements are metTechnical Support: Research and resolve routine to moderately complex data issues using SQL and other reporting tools.Documentation: Assist in preparing high-quality internal documentation.Communication: Clearly convey problems, solutions, updates, and project status to peers, customers, and managementAssist with the design, documentation, and implementation of Data Architecture standardsReview existing data models for correctness and compliance with standardsAnalyze medium size datasets using Python to both visualize and make predictionsSeek to understand RRD business units and processes, through research and discussions with IT and business partners
