Diesel Sales “The Diesel Engine People” are looking for a dynamometer/engine tech. Our Dyno / Engine Technician will be primarily responsible for troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and rebuilding diesel engines in our remanufacturing facility. We build approximately 100 remanufactured diesel engines from the ground up for heavy equipment applications and specialize in Caterpillar, Cummins, and Komatsu.

The dynamometer YOU will operating to test these engines once built is an AW I-900 water-cooled model which can handle loads of up to 3100 ft/lbs and 900 Horsepower.

We are located on the near west side of Chicago and are willing to train the right candidate who has never worked with a Dyno before. This is the perfect job for someone looking to stop climbing around equipment, get out of the extreme temps, and work inside on big engines in a hands-on environment.

Hourly Base Rate: $19.00 - $35.00 / hour

Shift: Monday to Friday 7:30AM- 4:30 PM.

Job duties:

Perform all levels of repair and preventative maintenance on engines as well as diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs and make all critical repairs and adjustments

Must be willing to work overtime as required by fluctuating workloads and available for after-hours calls as needed

Create a work environment that is considerate of the customer’s needs

Our Ideal Candidate:

Basic mechanical knowledge including electrical

General knowledge of basic hand tools, air tools, precision measuring tools and instruments

Must be able to read and comprehend specifications, service and parts literature, technical bulletins, schematics, line diagrams and other related publications.

What will put you ahead:

Experience with all makes and models of engine rebuilds

Stable work history

Comfortable operating various types of equipment and implements, diagnostic tooling, various shop hand and electric tools and overhead hoists/cranes

Ability to foster positive relationships internally and externally
