Chimney Technician Apprentice

Fireplace & Chimney Authority in Elmhurst, Illinois is seeking a Chimney Technician Apprentice to join our growing team at the Midwest's largest fireplace and chimney company. As a Chimney Technician Apprentice, you will work alongside certified chimney sweeps, learning the skills and techniques required to become a successful chimney sweep. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing, or assisting in the completion of the following:

-Cleaning chimneys, fireplaces, and vents

-Inspecting chimneys for damage, blockages, and other issues

-Performing repairs and maintenance on chimneys and fireplaces

-Installing and repairing chimney liners, caps, and dampers

-Operating various tools and equipment, including power drills, ladders, and scaffolding

-Installation of new fireplaces and stoves

-Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

In addition to the above responsibilities, the Chimney Sweep Apprentice may also be responsible for:

-Keeping accurate records of work performed

-Communicating with customers in a professional and courteous manner

-Providing estimates for repair and maintenance work

-Assisting with the marketing and promotion of our services

-Maintaining inventory of tools and equipment

The ideal candidate will have:

-A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn

-Good communication and customer service skills

-The ability to work at heights and lift heavy objects

-A valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Benefits:

-Competitive starting salary of $18.00 per hour.

-Once certified, CSIA Technicians average over $100,000 annual salary.
