Job DescriptionLocation: Chicago, ILHospital: RUSH University Medical CenterDepartment: Preventive Medicine-Res AdmWork Type: Full Time (Total FTE between 0.9 and 1.0)Shift: Shift 1Work Schedule: 8 Hr (9:00:00 AM - 5:00:00 PM)Summary:The Project Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing relationship building with community-based organizations on Chicago’s West and South sides, for the Community-based Research Network. The role requires a passion for connecting people and working for health equity. Weekend and evening work is regularly required. The Project Coordinator will facilitate effective communication among community and academic stakeholders, prepare presentation materials, and maintain comprehensive project documentation. The ideal candidate will have experience working in the community or have significant volunteer experience. Prioritizing and time management skills are important to this role along with excellent writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. The role requires at least 2 years of relevant experience with a preference for a bachelor’s degree in a related field. Familiarity with academic or healthcare research is a plus.Required Job Qualifications: High School Diploma OR GED. 2 years of relevant project work experience. Organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to work on tight deadlines. Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.Preferred Job Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree.Responsibilities: Maintains and monitors project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures. Coordinates project management activities, resources, equipment and information. Organizes, attending and participates in stakeholder meetings. Documents and follows up on important actions and decisions from meetings. Breaks projects into actions items and creates timeframes. Ensures projects adhere to frameworks and all documentation is maintained appropriately for each project. Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports. Prepares necessary presentation materials for meetings. Ensues project deadlines are met. Monitors project progress and handle any issues that arise. Assesses project risks and issues and provide solutions where applicable. Ensures stakeholder views are managed towards the best solution. Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives. Creates a project management calendar for fulfilling each goal and objective. Issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g. contracts and terms of agreement). Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all participants Ensures clients’ needs are met as projects evolve. Other duties as assigned.Rush is an equal opportunity employer.
