Job Description

Sr. Cisco Network Engineer Chicago, IL Hybrid Role (3 days/week in office) 12-Month Contract-to-Hire Pay Range: $75.00 - $100.00 per hr. / Salary Target Range: $150K - $175K Job Description: Our client is supporting Cisco networks anywhere from small to medium size business to enterprise environments. They are seeking several Sr. Network Engineers to Develop processes and procedures based on best practices for threat prevention. Perform remote troubleshooting through proven diagnostic techniques. Analyze and resolve network performance, connectivity, and related issues. Manage and perform equipment builds, deploy software patches & upgrades. Create and maintain accurate documentation for internal knowledge base. Analyze Root Cause Analysis and Problem Resolution and actively work to identify and solve repeat issues, improving on existing services or processes. Required Skills:
  • 7+ years of network engineering, implementation, support / troubleshooting experience
  • Experience in firewall design and implementation in medium to large environments
  • Active CCIE certification
  • Manufacturer certifications such as PCNSE, VCAP, CISSP
  • Experience with designing and implementing Cisco FTD/FMC and Palo Alto
  • Consulting experience preferred
  • Understanding of change management, testing requirements, techniques, and tools to ensure high availability of platforms
  • Knowledge of ITIL processes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for a wide range of audiences including executives, business stakeholders, and IT teams
  • Ability to work during non-business hours, as needed
  • Ability to travel, as required to support assigned projects/initiatives
  • Proficiency in Visio, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
