Summary StatementQuail Hollow Golf Course is one of Boise City's Municipal golf courses located in the Boise Foothills. Food and Beverage Chef at Quail Hollow Golf Course:
Oversees golf course food, beverage, grill and catering operations.
Ensures the highest quality of food service for the users at the golf course.
Plans menus, prepares food, and oversees staff preparing food and beverage for the customer.
Works under general supervision.
Essential FunctionsEnsures a high level of customer service is maintained with sales, service and cooking staff. Manages all food and beverage purchases, sales records. Places orders with vendors and monitors cost of goods. Develops menus for various events. Ensures compliance with sanitation, alcohol serving, and all food related regulations. Understands all areas of golf operation and assists in the golf operations as needed.Performs administrative and accounting duties. Creates work schedules to ensure food operations are adequately staffed within budgeted hours. Provides training and guidance to temporary and seasonal staff.Supervisory responsibilities: Employees in this position are authorized to recommend and/or effect the full range of duties (with appropriate managerial review), including hiring, performance evaluations, transferring, promoting, assigning of significant duties, rewarding, disciplining and terminating employment; exercise independent judgment to direct others work and have the authority to take corrective action; and, utilize people skills to communicate, motivate and direct or oversee a person, group, department, or organization.Performs other duties as assigned. RequirementsRequired Knowledge, Experience, And TrainingHigh school diploma or equivalent and five years of experience working in a food service position, with two years of experience in a supervisory role as lead cook, catering and event coordinator, or food and beverage manager.Working knowledge of food and beverage regulations; basic accounting and inventory methods; all aspect of a kitchen operation to include creating a food and beverage menu with appropriate pairings of food and beverage items.Ability to deliver high quality catering, food, and beverage services to customers; be a diplomatic team player and leader, fostering relationships with clientele; develop and manage staff to achieve individual and departmental goals; set priorities and react to a variety of situations at one time; compile, organize, and analyze data to create budget projections; prepare and present reports in a clear and concise manner; effectively supervise the work of others; coordinate multiple projects; operate a computer with demonstrated proficiency using related database, word processing, and spreadsheet software applications at an appropriate level for efficient job performance; display an attitude of cooperation and work harmoniously with all levels of City of Boise employees and the public; communicate effectively in the English language at a level necessary for efficient job performance; complete assignments in a timely fashion; understand and comply with all rules, policies and regulations; maintain prompt and regular attendance; and perform all essential and marginal functions as assigned by an authorized employee, supervisor and/or manager with or without a reasonable accommodation.Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And TrainingThree years of experience as a cook; experience working with a broiler, flat grill, fryer, convection oven, six burner stove, meat slicer and all cooking utensils.Ability to be a diplomatic team player and leader, fostering relationships with clientele; develop and manage staff to achieve individual and departmental goals; multi-task and react to a variety of situations at one time.Licensing And Other RequirementsState of Idaho Heath Department food and safety program and TIPS (Alcohol) certifications.Special RequirementsApplicants must be able to pass:City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process RegulationWorking ConditionsThe physical effort characteristics and working environment described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
