Hiring Farm Hand

Aloha we’re hiring for a position on our botanical herb farm on the north shore of Kaua’i. This position is basically equivalent of a paid apprenticeship of farm to table herbal medicine making. Responsibilities would be caretaking the field (grass maintenance, weeding, prepping beds, planting, watering), harvesting, dehydrating, making products, deliveries & organization. Ideally we’d love to hire someone who can do the full job but we also have a few wonderful people involved so the job can be divided up & y’all can support each other. We cultivate just under one acre in Kilauea & grow over 40 medicinal & culinary herbs we make into high quality herbal products, & stock several retailers on island + sell online. We practice no till, regenerative farming implementing lots of mulch, companion planting, food forest style gardening. We pay per completed work not hourly, so this gives the freedom to work at your own pace & when you have the time- only a few tasks are on a time consideration like deliveries & such. This requires diligence & integrity. We’d love to hire someone who has stable housing with electric to host our dehydrators so you can harvest & dehydrate in this space, and make apothecary items there as well, like oils, salves, hydrosols. We can build a separate structure for this as well if needed + able. Farm experience & herbal knowledge would be great too working in the field.
