Ophthalmology Assistant

Looking for a bright, motivated, friendly person for immediate opening as a medical assistant for back office for busy ophthalmology practice.

Willing to train the right individual. Perfect position for people who are interested in applying to med/nursing/PA school and want experience in the health care field as they fulfill pre-reqs.

Hours: Mon-Fri: 7:30-4:15 pm, every other Sat: 7:30-12:00

Responsibilities include:

-Performing autorefractor, tonometry and lensometry for patients

-Checking vision and taking patient histories

-Printing and calling in patient medication, glasses and contact lens prescriptions

-Operating all equipment - visual field machine, fundus photography, topography, OCT, IOL masters (these skills will be taught)

-Triaging patient phone calls and making appointments

Must be familiar with computers - Microsoft word, excel and quick to learn our electronic scheduling system, and electronic medical records.
