Utility Person / Maintenance Technician
Hawaii, Hawaii, 96801 Hawaii USAWe are seeking a reliable and motivated Utility Person / Maintenance Technician to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall condition of the property. The ideal candidate will support both housekeeping/utility operations and basic maintenance tasks, ensuring a well-kept and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
UTILITY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clean and maintain common areas, including lobbies, restrooms, elevators, hallways, laundry facilities, office areas, pool decks, landscape areas, driveways, and garages.
Follow proper chemical handling and cleaning procedures.
Vacuum designated areas throughout the property.
Collect, prepare, and dispose of trash; maintain recycling program when applicable.
Restock and distribute linen and terry items.
Remove trash from carts and other assigned locations.
Set up and break down meeting or event spaces as requested.
Adhere to all company safety guidelines.
Perform other utility duties as assigned.
MAINTENANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair, maintain, and refurbish facility areas, equipment, and furnishings independently with minimal supervision.
Complete assigned maintenance tasks efficiently and in accordance with company quality standards.
Report maintenance issues and safety concerns to the supervisor promptly.
Complete daily trouble reports and timesheets accurately.
Perform basic preventative maintenance and minor repairs (e.g., painting, fixture replacement, drain clearing, bulb replacement).
Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs or hazards.
Safely operate and maintain tools, equipment, and materials required for the role.
Assist maintenance staff with larger repair or improvement projects.
Keep mechanical rooms, storage, and maintenance areas clean and organized.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must be available to work any day of the week and any assigned shift.
Minimum 3 years of hotel or condominium resort interior maintenance experience, or equivalent experience in a related field.
Knowledge of proper cleaning and maintenance equipment usage.
Ability to lift at least 20 pounds.
Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks accurately and timely.
Dependable, honest, and service-oriented.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
PAY RATE: $20.69 - $23.34 / hour, based on experience.
