Cook for Meal Prep Company PART TIME $23+/HR

We are looking for an ambitious EXPERIENCED Cook to assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in our fun prep kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy environment as a part of a team. We have a tightknit crew that works closely with each other. We work very hard, but have a great time doing it. This is definitely NOT your average food service position.

Part time, about 14-16 hours a week. Only on Sundays and Mondays. Hours are: Sunday 10am to 6pm and Tuesdays 9am-5pm. Beginning in February, the schedule will be Monday and Tuesdays 9am to 5pm. Pay starts at $20/ hour plus tips. Tips from our awesome customers are usually $3-6 more an hour, sometimes even more. So your pay will always come out to at least $23-26 an hour (or more!).

Responsibilities

MUST BE AVAILABLE SUNDAYS AND MONDAYS at the above hours.

Show up on time! Since we only operate 2 days a week we need reliable team members! Unreliable or no call no show will not be permitted and grounds for termination.

Follow the prep list to prepare marinades, sauces, stir frys, grilled and baked items.

Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.

Undertake basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.

Operate a charbroiler, convection oven, burner and flat top.

Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen station

Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines

Help pack plates and orders

Perform other kitchen duties as assigned

Skills

Proven experience as prep cook - REQUIRED

Must have knowledge and experience in all hot line equipment - REQUIRED

Large batch preparation/ catering experience is a plus

Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen

Able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils, food processor, etc

Able to operate hot line equipment such as flat top, grill, oven, etc.

A team player with good communication skills

Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure

High school diploma or equivalent is desirable; Training from a culinary school will be an asset.
