Description We are on the lookout for a meticulous and diligent Accountant to be a part of our team in the manufacturing industry in HONOLULU, Hawaii. The role involves performing various accounting functions and supporting our team in the monthly closing activities. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements. To apply, please call us at 808-531-8056.Responsibilities Execute monthly closing activities diligently and on time Prepare and post journal entries as required Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of records Prepare financial statements, including supporting schedules and reports Compute and file General Excise Tax as per the relevant regulations Assist in forecasting to help the company make informed financial decisions Distribute accounts payable checks to the respective parties Process 1099 forms for independent contractors Verify and code expense reports to process for payment Perform other accounting functions and support as assigned by the manager Familiarize with and use Accounting Software Systems for performing various tasks Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) tasks Conduct auditing tasks when required Prepare and post journal entries as needed Utilize Microsoft Excel and MS Windows Vista for various tasks Participate in Month-end Close Activities Assist in forecasting financial trends and outcomes Ensure compliance with Excise Tax laws and regulations.Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential Extensive knowledge of Accounting Functions is a must Experience in managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Familiarity with Auditing procedures and principles Ability to perform Journal Entries accurately and efficiently Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Windows Vista Experience in Month-end Close Activities Ability to perform financial Forecasting Knowledge of Excise Tax is essential Previous experience in a manufacturing industry is desirable A degree in accounting or a related field is required Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
