What you'll do

H&R Block, the world’s leader in tax preparation services, is hiring for a hybrid dual role position, that works as both a remote Customer Service (Seasonal) agent and in-office Receptionist (Seasonal). This seasonal opportunity splits your time of up to 20 hours/week for each role (working up to 40 hours each week), offering 100% work from home for Customer Service and also working in the tax office as a front-desk Receptionist. H&R Block is in the midst of a multi-year transformation journey and it’s an exciting time to join the organization!

Customer Service Day to Day you'll

This seasonal role provides advanced client support by communicating via phone, email or chat with external clients requiring assistance of information on tax products and services.

Interprets clients’ needs and utilizes troubleshooting skills to identify practical solutions.

Utilizes software solutions, knowledge base, and computer systems to resolve and track user incidents.

Identify potential security issues and escalates issues appropriately to business partners, including partnering with developers and other lines of business.

Ability to communicate clearly and calmly on the telephone, email and chat and to use effective customer service techniques with clients who may be under stress.

Effectively demonstrate oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact with all levels of associates.

Receptionist Day to Day you'll

This seasonal role provides front desk/receptionist support in the tax office by relentlessly focusing on wowing clients, working flexible schedules that fit our locations during the tax season (January to April).

Answer phones and greet clients in a personalized, friendly, and inviting manner

Match clients with the best-suited tax professional for their needs

Schedule clients how they would like to be scheduled

Handle client exits by ensuring all current and future needs are met

Maintain office cleanliness and organization of resources with team members

Other duties as assigned

Customer Service Compensation is $19+/hour

What you'll bring to the team

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Work Experience:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to perform under stress in a fast-paced phone center environment

General computer navigation knowledge with experience with Microsoft Office

Prior experience with Microsoft Office, general computer software troubleshooting, and/or networking connectivity problems

Strong organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills

Experience in an in-bound call center environment strongly preferred

Work-from-Home Requirements (for Customer Service role):

Must have a place in your residence that would be suitable for taking phone calls or chats in an area you would consider to be secure

Must have an outlet for laptop and monitors to be connected to

Need to be able to have a wired internet connection (not WiFi) at home with minimum upload and download speeds of 15MBps (Internet Speed Test required

Must have a smart phone and be willing to install an RSA token as well as Microsoft Teams on it

Pay Range Information

The pay range for this position is listed below. Local minimum wage laws apply. Individual pay decisions will depend on job-related factors such as experience, education, skill, performance, and geographic location where work will be performed.

Successful candidates may be able to participate in one or more incentive compensation or short-term incentive plans, which could generate additional earnings in accordance with the terms of each plan.

Qualifying associates can enroll themselves and/or their eligible dependents in medical and prescription drug coverage; can participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (401(k) Plan), the Employee Assistance Program, (virtual) fitness center programs, and the associate discount program; are automatically enrolled in Business Travel Accident Insurance; and receive Associate Tax Prep benefit.
