Position Purpose:Oversees administration of publications revisions, its contents, and business processes. Responsible for developing solutions to support the capability to produce and distribute technical information. Works with Technical Publication management to analyze current and future technology needs, and is responsible for developing strategy and implementation of technology projects and requests to support the business objectives. Coordinates schedules and resources covering multiple technical platforms and communicates status and progress of strategic technology initiatives.Job DescriptionPrinciple Duties and Responsibilities:Essential Functions:
Using department business processes and technology, and develops solutions to produce and distribute technical publications. Provides input to management on new technology and product for integration into the Technical Information business model. Makes recommendations to management on opportunities to gain competitive advantage, improve efficiency, and reduce cycle time or costs.
Develops business relationships with key decision-makers to develop a technology strategy to ensure alignment of technology initiatives with business objectives, needs, goals, and operating priorities. Determines feasibility of systems solutions and ensures business area management understands technology capabilities.
Liaison between Technical Information management, end users, and vendors for technology issues in order to exchange information and resolve problems.
Initiates problem resolution and improvements to existing systems; assists with planning activities and provides project leadership for mid to large-scale projects that integrate business processes into chosen technology.
Documents and presents business requirements in such a manner that they are easily understood, estimated and executed by the chosen service provider.
Reviews ROM time, manpower and cost estimates for systems development activities. Works with project leader to build development plans to include all necessary resources to achieve project objectives. .
Responsible for and reviews the activities of personnel in the design, development, purchase, integration, implementation, maintenance and operation of Technical Information related technology projects. .
Assists with evaluation and recommendations regarding purchased software packages, hardware platforms and supporting services. .
