Busy Cardiology practice in Cumming has an immediate position for a Certified Medical Assistant. We are expanding and looking for someone to join our growing team. Excellent growth opportunities for the medical assistants.
Experience in E-ClinicalWorks EMR system is preferred.
Duties:
Clinical Duties:
Patient Preparation: Prepare patients for examination by the cardiologist, including taking vital signs, medical history, and reason for the visit.
Electrocardiograms (EKGs): Perform EKGs and other cardiovascular tests as directed by the cardiologist.
Treadmill Stress Tests: Prepare patients for treadmill stress tests, monitor them during the test, and record the results.
Holter/Event Monitor Hookup: Attach Holter and event monitors to patients, provide instructions on their use, and ensure proper functioning.
Follow-Up Care: Provide post-examination care instructions and ensure patients understand their treatment plans and follow-up schedules.
Medical Equipment Maintenance: Ensure all medical equipment is properly sterilized and maintained, and report any malfunctions.
Administrative Duties:
Patient Reception: Greet patients, check them in, and update their records.
Appointment Scheduling: Manage the scheduling of patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals.
Medical Records Management: Update and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Insurance Processing: Verify patient insurance information and handle billing and coding for insurance claims.
Communication: Answer phone calls, manage emails, and communicate with patients regarding appointments, test results, and other inquiries.
Office Coordination: Assist in managing office supplies and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice.
Additional Responsibilities:
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other staff members to ensure the best patient care.
Continuing Education: Stay updated with the latest medical and cardiology-specific knowledge and skills through continuous education and training.
Experience:
- We welcome new graduates as well as experienced candidates
- Proficient in medical terminology and familiar with various medical procedures
- Knowledge of basic life support (BLS) techniques and ability to respond to emergencies
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physiology
Skills:
- Excellent patient care skills, including the ability to communicate effectively and provide compassionate care
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording patient information
- Knowledge of medical administrative processes, such as insurance verification and appointment scheduling
The successful candidate must have a valid certification as a Medical Assistant.
