You will develop skill related to Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management. You’ll utilize data query tools in the development of dashboards for enterprise risk and audit findings. Evaluate and report on leading indicators of changes in enterprise risk based on internal and external data. Contribute meaningful analysis and results needed for the company, while gaining exposure to various departments at Norfolk Southern.As a Norfolk Southern Intern, you will expect to gain the following experience:

Responsibilities
Assist in data extraction, transformation, database development, and utilizing visualization tools within Microsoft PowerBI and Tableau.
Create and maintain dashboards from integrating data sources.
Design SharePoint sites leveraging Microsoft 365 collaboration tools.
Gain an understanding of database structures (Access, SQL), query language and data governance.
Exposed to basic audit and risk management concepts.
Manage time, prioritize work demands effectively, meet deadlines without sacrificing Risk and Audit standards of work.
Collaborate with various levels of management while being positive and professional.
Education Required
Pursuing Bachelors Degree or higher required.
Active enrolled student during the months of May through August 2025
Freshman (27 or fewer credits)
Sophomore (28 to 59 credits)
Junior (60 to 89 credits)
Senior (90 or more credits)
Graduate Student
Degree Paths Preferred: Data Science, Data Analytics, CIS, MIS, or related technology fields of study.
Skills Required
Experience data visualization tools or query software such as Power BI, Tableau or SQL
MS 365 Office Suite
Soft Skills Preferred
Motivated self-starter committed to learning.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Willingness to study reference materials, ask questions and resolve problems.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
