Learn more at www.ukg.com/careers #WeAreUKGDescription & QualificationsDescriptionDescriptionThe Technology Management Consultant is responsible for supporting technologists across Engineering as leaders assess the viability of and future use cases for a variety of third-party tools. The Consultant builds relationships with leaders and their representatives across the organization, supports their assessment of potential tools throughout various technology management activities, provides technical interpretations of contracts, and acts as an intermediary between Engineering and the rest of the organization. In addition, they act as the lead on strategic initiatives developed in-house by the Technology Management Services team, ranging from annual budgeting for $50M software spend, to technology portfolio adoption metering, and post-M&A technology catalog assessments.ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Planning Partner with key vendors to run executive-level business reviews with leaders from multiple divisions within the organization and the vendor. Develop technology rationalization assessments; work with peers to build out these assessments to support high spend/risk investment decision making. Plan and lead activities related to technology implementation, reduction, or retirement in partnership with PMO and Engineering leaders. Monitor and analyze trends in company spending and inventory control in order to make recommendations for the future, and to identify areas for possible savings. Ensure that IT purchases continue to support the organization’s business strategy.Operational Management Support procurement and Engineering technologists to create proof of concept requirements. Lead activities required to build financial assessments of technical investment Validate previously created technical assessment against actual usage, spend, etc. to increase effectiveness of team’s efforts related to financial planning and analysis Monitor adoption of new technologies and engage necessary resources to address divergences to plan Assist with contract diligence, T&C negotiations, and licensing procurement.QualificationsFormal Education & Certification University degree or college diploma in Information Technology, Business Administration or equivalent work experience. MBA or similar preferred.Knowledge & Experience 7-10 years as a senior IT professional or operations consultant, with experience directing or managing virtual teams as strong preference. Strong familiarity and technical competence with purchase management software and/or automated procurement systems, such as ServiceNow. Solid working knowledge of current IT technologies, including full Microsoft Office Suite; experience with MS Power BI and MS Power Automate strongly preferred.Personal Attributes Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Proactive approach to problem solving essential. Customer service skills an asset. Ability to deal tactfully with vendors, suppliers, and contractors who provide a broad spectrum of products and services. Highly analytical. Superb budgeting, cost-management, and ROI modeling skills. General knowledge of accounting, finance, marketing, and logistics. Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of stakeholders. Strong written and oral communication skills. Adept at conducting research into product and contract-related issues.
