Staff Accountant

Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced, organized individual to take on the short-term contract / temporary to hire role of Staff Accountant at a growing, dynamic company. As a Staff Accountant, you will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will play an active role in compliance, collaborate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This very involved position works to produce Cash Flow projections, Financial Statements, and Budgets. Based in the Atlanta, Georgia region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.ResponsibilitiesPlay a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management

Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP

Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner

Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules

Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested

Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

Take part in various department-wide initiatives

Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision Requirements - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

Ability to meet deadlines

Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills

Competent with spreadsheets and databases

Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges

Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills

Accounts Payable (AP) experience

Accounts Receivable (AR) experience preferred

Strong familiarity with QuickBooks

Recent and relevant accounting experience

Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment

ERP system experience

Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
