Description If you're an experienced accountant with a keen eye for accuracy, there's an exciting opportunity through Robert Half for you to check out at a growing firm. Your responsibilities as Staff Accountant will include preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. When it's time for the monthly close, you'll be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position involves a good deal of time spent on producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. The Atlanta, Georgia based company offering this multi-faceted, challenging long-term contract / temporary to hire opportunity provides a thriving environment where innovation is encouraged and effort is rewarded.Key responsibilitiesTake part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Conduct month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Participate in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Be responsible for analysis of income statements and balance sheets and communicate findings to management
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation Requirements - Proficient in ERP systems
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Ability to meet deadlines
Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
